The transfer of data to the cloud, the next technological step

For some entrepreneurs there exists a mixed picture, given by a technological trend that evolves daily although is not reflected in the increase of productivity levels of companies. Its platforms are outdated and do not support effectively the virtualization processes of information and this, coupled with the complexity of the new market scenarios, stagnates growth.

Therefore, the real challenge that professionals of information technology (IT) have, is to ensure that future applications are compatible with existing channels and allow improved performance. US multinational organizations such as Citrix, understood perfectly this kind of challenge and now they try to adapt their processes and portfolio services to the demands of their customers, who, in turn, meet the needs of end consumers.

Kirill Tatarinov, current CEO of Citrix, with over three decades of industry experience, including key management positions and others as a developer of software solutions on Microsoft and BMC, explained during the Citrix Sinergy conference, which took place at the end of May in Las Vegas (United States), that his main goal is to make the organization "big again"

In his presentation to about 5,000 guests present and more than 15,000 spectators via streaming at the Convention Center at the Venetian Hotel , he flaunted the latest technological trends and networking, in addition to explaining the new strategy to be implemented by the company in the short term that focuses on increasing the chances of entrepreneurs in the virtual environment through four major areas: mobility, Internet of Things (IoT, by its acronym in English), big data analytics and cloud Tatarinov also revealed that the way to innovate is through a new infrastructure "capable of delivering the best technology integrated and secure services in applications and data anytime and anywhere”; an advance made possible through the expansion of an alliance with Microsoft that began 20 years ago.

A promising duo The big announcement Citrix, to meet its goals technological mobility, was the expansion its strategic alliance with the giant Microsoft; A Duo that promises to open up new possibilities for information management to customers and help them accelerate the shift towards digital business, thanks to the virtual desktops application _, a better connectivity service and more tools for telework.

The measure, according to Tatarinov, reinforces the idea that "companies of all sizes, in all industries around the world, have a great opportunity to embrace the digital transformation and train their people to work productively from any place and at any time "and the chosen platform for this purpose is Microsoft Azure, the service that will empower customers to take advantage of the cloud on the way to the digital transformation in their organizations.

Everybody to the cloud?

For the director of Citrix for the northern region of Latin America and the Caribbean (Nola), Juan Pablo Villegas, "a different option does not exist for growing companies than moving to the cloud , as the market demands and technologies are given in that sense".

In accordance with this idea, the bet is that the data and mobile solutions are concentrated and packaged in the cloud gradually, taking another step forward to replace hardware spaces where they still manage and file documents.

A form of work that could change in the near future, as there are a growing number of organizations that see the need to improve their technological mobility policies to access their clients; process that increasingly looks more natural if you consider that in the world 90 percent of companies are already exploring virtualization to manage their information and 40 percent of them have ceased to provide its
employees with devices because they believe in a Mobile model, by which employees can work from their personal devices from anywhere without meeting schedule.

Colombia is one of the countries adopting this approach, which aims to achieve objectives instead of working days. According to a survey conducted by Citrix in Brazil, Mexico and Colombia, 70 percent of the questioned companies flirts with this possibility as a way to keep growing, an idea that is reinforced in the same poll, it also shows that 64 percent of employees require to handle information outside the office.
