One issue to consider when investing in DTP services is the availability of the original source files that the document was composed in. Often, a customer wants to translate a sales catalog, for example, but has its PDF version only. In cases like this, it would be desirable to be able to access the files originally used by the designers of this catalog, which have probably used some graphic design software such as Illustrator, InDesign.
